Just a young girl in her twenties complaining about how unfair life really is!
What I can tell you is the fact that I am an African- Nigerian- living in Ireland for the past 10 years. I still remember my arrival- I had been 10 years old, eager and excited to witness the promise that was the new land I was heading to. Nothing could have prepared me from the peculiarities of European living.
And oh what a 10 years it has been! I have grown into someone that is a hybrid of the country I called home and the country I now know as home.
I like to refer to myself as a future dream catcher on my good days because I do not wish to be merely a chaser of dreams. In my opinion, too many people chase dreams, it is my goal to catch mine and make all my wishes realities.
But enough about me!
This blog will be about so much more, so let’s dive in.
What is the human condition?
A lot of things astound me in this world in my very brief time on earth. But the things that take my breath away are the human capabilities to do good. And our never ending ability to inflict pain in retrospect. Our resourcefulness when it comes to survival and our hope in the face of austerity, in the face of woes and the face of poverty. That is the human condition.
So follow me, in my journey through life. In my search to understand us better. In my search for what makes us humans and in my quest in figuring who I am out as an individual.
It is my hope that we shall learn wonderful things about each other during this journey. These will not always be beautiful but I am certain that our discoveries will serve to make us even better version of the person that we are and were destined to be.
And most importantly, we shall all grow, knowing that our growth will never be a hindrance but new leaves sprouting from our tree of life
